The 19th Heads of State and Government Summit of the Group of 20 (G20) will take place in November 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, marking Brazil's first term as the G20 rotating presidency as South America’s largest economy.

Ana Cristina Carvalho, Chair of the Tourism Association at Federation Chambers of Foreign Trade (FCCE) of Brazil, shared in an interview with China News Network that this year, which marks the 50th anniversary of Brazil-China diplomatic ties, has seen significant progress in bilateral relations. In particular, enhanced diplomatic relations have made travel between the two countries more accessible.

Ana further noted that this year’s G20 in Rio offers a comprehensive platform for participants to discuss topics such as health, education, and urban quality of life. Brazil looks forward to proposing and adopting initiatives at the G20, which will contribute to global development. (Hao Yunhui, Zhao Li)

在主论坛上，法兰西科学院原院长梅尼耶表示，中欧在教育领域以及药物化学领域有着深厚的合作基础，通过多年来双方科研人员的共同努力，取得了多项颇具重大社会影响力的科研成果。他强调，随着技术进步和科学创新加速，中欧需要更加重视在健康、气候变化等全球性问题上的合作，实现共同的可持续发展目标。西安电子科技大学校长张新亮表示，中欧在科技教育方面的合作潜力巨大，尤其是在信息技术、人工智能和通信技术领域；未来双方可在联合办学、教育资源共享、师生交流等方面实现更深层次的互利共赢。
